Gotta go with the UV.. No other choice right now.
But I'm glad you didn't freak out with the water changes.
Do regular water changes as you've stated you will do and add a sterilizer.
Maybe try keeping the lights off until it clears? Fish don't necessarily need light anyways.
You should be fine no worries. Make sure to post a pic of the tank after it clears up! :)

Wow that algae is bad!

Hope you get it sorted soon! I have a freind who's turtle tank is the same and no matter what I've done (extra water changes, no light etc)I can't clear it for them

I would like to see if the uv works as I had the same results when I tried the algae control stuff

ok ive decided to get a uv. after reseaching a bit i found that a pond clear advantage 25 watt is what is needed as well as what i am going to order the 1st.Iknow someone told me to use 40 watts. I feel that i dont need this much wattage,as the tank will never be saltwater. as far as algea clear i will never use it again down one more fish...and it was the flower horn.

That algae clear isnt good for your fish. I used a similar product and I lost several fish years ago. Water changes every other day will help get rid of that bloom. A UV will also help. DOnt use any more chems.
