I don't even do that. I still have the lights on, TV playing etc, and act like no one is home.

We had four trick-or-treaters, all in one group. We live about seven miles out of town, so the only ones we get are my students. When I taught younger kids I would get quite a few, but now I teach 4th and 5th and not near as many are into Halloween.
We took the kids to town trick-or-treating for the first time (my son is four and my daughter is two) and went around to all the businesses. They were handing out some good stuff, the local Chinese restaurant was handing out full-size candy bars and a heating company was handing out Frisbees, balloons, and other stuff.

Ended up having well over 50 and was worried candy would run out. A group of girls offered to trade all their candy for my 73 chevy. Tempting.
