My stepmother rang me a few months back to find out if I'd heard of the "momo" thing, apparently my little sister (9) came home from school one day and asked if she was allowed to watch momo. Its scary to think what might have happened had my sister just sought it out on her own and hadn't asked my stepmum (her mum) about it first.

I feel bad for kids these days, when I was young (not too long ago) most people just let kids be kids. Nothing like that now days. Why idiots would want children harmed is beyond me, what the f*ck would one get from that anyway? <--- please don't answer that because I don't think I want to know..

It is sad kids lose their innocence way too ealry.

There should be no prison sentence for these people. I could think of a few really good ways to deter this madness. Make it public too

I was eating lunch with a colleague the other day and there was a table next to us, with 6 kids sitting, roughly the same age, none of them talking to each other, all looking at their phones, using the free wifi...

Agreed! I can also think of some excellent "deterrents" for sickos like that. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on the view point) we don't make the laws, just adhere to them..

I just hope that when lady karma gets around to these people that she's not nice to them and they get what they deserve.

I never got the impression that the thought of prison affects people like this. If they are that sick to begin with why would they fear being locked up. I dont know how it is down under but up here the lack of value some people have towards children/babies is disgusting

I wouldn't rule it out if some of these "people" are perhaps kids themselves.
There's been a surge here, where I live, in teenagers killing other teenagers, quite viciously and deliberately. Kids aren't so innocent anymore either. It is scary. One doesn't know who to trust with their kids anymore.

Just the lack of value people have towards life in general is pretty bad. The area I live in atm is full of horrible people. In fact, some idiot on a dirt bike hit a 7 yr old boy a few weeks back and done a mad dash, saddest part is its not the first time something like that has happened around here. A year or so back an elderly lady was hit also by a guy on a dirt bike and a year or so before that a 6 year old girl was hospitalized when a dirt bike rider purposely rode onto her lawn with the intent to hit her. There's more examples, I just can't think of them atm.
Anyone who feels the need to target those weaker than them is a coward of the highest order.

My god. Why would they want to intentionally run over the 6yr old.

And whats the deal with these Disney movies. Almost all of them have a miserably depressing back story. Just watched the new wreck it ralph movies with them and both of em are crying... i hate Disney movies too much emotional content.

Yeah this "momo" thing is seriously messed up. You can do a "filter" thing on youtube where the app is unable to show content from channels other than what the administrator chooses. There was a great TED talk with james somebody about exactly this sort of thing.

The police suspected it was done because of the drug "ice". I only know the small amount I read in the paper so don't have all the facts.

The girls parents were known for selling the drug, so my personal take is that someone couldn't get their fix and decided to take it out on their dealers daughter. I don't know for sure if that's what actually happened, but that's the only thing I could think of that would drive someone to do something like that - drugs like that drive people do some absolutely idiotic things.

And as for Disney movies being sad and depressing, have you watched the First Pokemon Movie? I've seen it more times than I'd like to admit and the damn thing still makes me cry lol just one scene towards the end.
Actually, a couple if the pokemon movies make me cry if I'm being honest... Gosh I'm a sook! :grinyes::grinno::grinyes:
