The Axolotl Diaries

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Lol, I don't see why you're frustrated. The fans weigh nothing, the screen top is heavier gauge, and there are no heavy blobs that will be jumping on the tank. :chillpill:

Not frustrated, just care for the safety of the animal sure the fans work now but water splashes maybe from the animal, more than likely from the filter, or maybe just doing a water change and a cheap 10 dollar desk fan from wal-mart might do the job but once wet isn't going to do much. Why wouldn't you want the best for your animal instead of what is affordable and get a proper water chiller.

Sure, go ahead and buy me one. I'd love that.

An axolotl tank doesn't have a lot of water movement, and a lot of people use the fan method, so I'm not really worried about it for now. I'll upgrade eventually, but not in the next few months. If one gets wet and stops working, I'll spend $6 for a new one. No biggie. $6 is a lot easier than $200. I don't know, but copying what lots of other axi owners do didn't really seem like a bad idea to me.

And it would be common sense to move the fans when doing a water change ... Just saying.

Anyway, enough of that. :topic:

Like you said, I can at least suspend them to prevent the "what if" situation. And that was good advice that I'll take.

He needs a hide! What you use will depend on what your decoration style is, I guess; anything with smooth edges will work. A clay flowerpot, a piece of PVC pipe, or one of those overpriced resin things from the pet store will work, as will a nicely placed shelter of stones or driftwood.

Java moss is a good low-light plant. It thrives under virtually any conditions.

For sure! Thank you :D

More pics. Have flash on to bring out the green in them. In person they look less green, but I love the effect the light has on em. Lovely :D

This is the tank (don't make fun, I'm girly I know, and thought these colors would go with the GFP theme :D)...

Super cute Jessica! I am not a fan of the neon colors but so long as they and you are happy, rock out girlie!
