A little update. The eggs I was seeing have stopped I couldn’t figure out who was laying them. I did put in a rock in the low spot in the sand that they dug but no success getting them to lay on it. I did do a large feeding the other day and a water change and the next day Hoover’s hump was quite a bit larger and red. I’ve noticed that it fluctuates In size from time to time and I guess that has to do with feeding/aggression/water changes. Anyway I took some quck cell phone shots of the gang sorry about the glare.

I have 2 bass... my first kept killing all of his tank mates. But gets along great with my 10 inch tinfoil barbs. So.... I finally pick up a second bass... he/ she gets along great with my smaller school of barbs as well. Maybe it is an age thing?
Your fish are epic.

Thanks, Cichla do best in groups of 3 or larger. It seems to spread the aggression out. I personally feel that other species of fish have a hard time thriving with bass unless they are really outgoing.

Cichlids can be triggered to lay eggs/spawn with cooler temp and more frequent water changes simulates rainy season I’m sure you knew this but figured I would throw it out there. I was able to get a female wc Broko to lay multiple times for me doing this method it was kind of and experiment I read about it here on mfk and figured would give it a try and it worked.

Bass are looking gorgeous!

.... A little update, Last Friday I care home to a tank filled with eggs for the first time. They looked fertilized but I didn’t have much hope. Parents have been looking after the eggs... well I just took a look in the tank and there’s wigglers everywhere... stay tuned I don’t know what to do next anyone who has any advice feel free to help me out. So freakin pumped.D6264B83-3564-4F3D-B970-B2B2473E7612.jpeg56644E34-8189-405F-8AE6-1DC464F08E26.jpegEE5B5E32-97EA-4732-AB0B-120DF8D1EF08.jpegBD4E2111-86BF-43E4-BE9A-D7D3A55B9C97.jpegA03E6F40-D9E8-41FD-A355-7AF53044E523.jpeg8ED86F34-88A7-46D6-9AE3-9547F7D94CBC.jpeg901746D1-A17F-47A0-9F4B-E72C21370846.jpeg

Wow that is super exciting. Can’t wait to hear what happens next. Do you have a smaller tank available/cycled/ ready for fry?
