Thread for the Irwin Family & Friends

I am still in disbelief. When I went to work Monday and then went about town during the day, I heard Steve's name mentioned so many, many times - it was just unbelievable. Each person telling the story they'd heard on the news as if they knew this great man personally. That's part of why he was so well known - his fantastic personality and vast knowledge just touched the homes of soooooo many people around the globe. A truly phenomenal human being. I too, feel as though I've lost a good friend. He always included the whole family in his shows and that made us feel a 'part' of it all. I will probably never come into contact with a croc or poisonous snake, but if I ever do, I have a much better idea of what to do and what not to do, because of Steve and his family. One of my 13 year-olds dreams for later in life has always been to visit Australia and Australia Zoo in hopes of meeting the "Croc-hunter'. I can't imagine that he would have ever been interested in visiting another country if not for Steve Irwin. I truly hope Terry, Steve's folks and his children will continue to educate the public about all the wonderful creatures of Australia. Steve will live on in our hearts and in our minds for a very long time.
Thanks for letting me share.

"The Croc Hunter!!!" Steve will always be remembers for his energy, drive, and love for nature...there is a saying "no fear" and Steve Irwin was living proof. To his wife and two children, i'm sorry for you loss...Your husband and father was a great man and will always be remembered.

My condolence goes to Steve's family, wife and kids. We're many in Denmark who's sorry for what has happened. We watched his programs on Animal planet and loved them.

Love from a lot of fish lovers in Demark

I would like to take this opportunity to let people know how big of an impact Steve Irwin has made on me. I've watched the Animal Channel and his Discovery shows ever since I was 17. Steve Irwin's knowledge and understanding of these animals was truly unique and it helped me realize that reptiles are not all that bad. In fact, me seeing him hold the most poisonous snakes in parts of the world, namely Australia, made me realize that I needed to be more open minded about all animals of the world. Thanks Steve Irwin for helping me expand my horizons and my perspective on cold-blooded animals. I'll never forget what you've done for me and I wish your family all the best. Crocs rule! :headbang2

R.I.P Steve....

Steve was a great ambassador for Australia...a true aussie bloke.

He will be missed badly by many.

I was very sad to see him go..and my thoughts are with his family.

My heartfelt condolences. Steve Irwin was the modern days' Bernhard Grzimek.
