Toni and Nemo my albino Oscar's

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
An Oscar in a 125 will get big enough to eat roseline sharks. I would get a tank for you sharks, I have 5 and I really like them , and you could add some other small barbs or tetras with them .
Silver dollars do well with Oscars and stay active.

Well it finally happened, Toni got pissed off and ate one of the sharks, well half of it anyways.

I saw her do it. I was wondering why she was slowly swimmig strait down, BAMM she strikes and swims off with it in her mouth....l am like NOOOOO! Then my ride shows up to take me to the store and such so I had to leave mid eating. I get back and the tail end is just sitting on the sand.
LOL, LOL, I been reading through this forum for awhile thinking when is that bad motha gonna eat one of those sharks. Then i get to it! LOL, sorry its realy not that funny but LOL. Great story, great pics, keep it coming.

On the 3rd I'll get a second AC110, that should be ok for just her for a month right? Then in March I will add a FX4 again I will add another FX4 in April, for a total of 2 AC110s and 2 FX4s for filtration. I don't plan on adding any other fish to the tank till both FX4s are on it. So far I am only planning on 6 silver dollar's and Juan Carlos when he is big enough.

What is the smallest silver dollar? Would red hooks get too big?

I can't wait to see Toni swimming around in this big a** tank.

Red hooks get very big eventually.
I would look for some spotted dollars, metynnis lippincotianus. They are a beautiful fish and one of the smallest species of dollar.

Great fish journal, very entertaining :) Although I was foreseeing what would happen to the denison barbs :)

I was never into oscars but Tony looks great! I'd lalso ove to hear about the other fish's development too :) Thanks for keeping the journal.

If any of the others have any history, does freezing extra food preserve the food till rethawed and used. You would think that food at the bottom would go bad after being opened twice a day for a year....

I've been freezing my NLS pellets for years. I always have several different type of jars at a time. I take a bit of each and mix into an empty old one. When its all eaten, I take more from the freezer.
Besides preserving the food, the reason I do that is because mine is a community tank, different sizes of fish, different nutritional needs as well. But freezing works great. My fish were always fed NLS from day one, so I never had a fish turn it down. They wait for a feeding like clockwork and even stay waiting at the side of the tank I normally drop the food at.
