Too hot to pass by - dwarf ID

The other option would be ordering Cr. wallacii from The Wetspot on aquabid and might get lucky. Mine was pulled from a LFS order of Cr. wallacii from their wholesale division.

Oh, Aquatic Clarity tried to get in a dwarf pike under the trade name sp. Inirida Dwarf ... so very well could be the same fish, could ask him to try again.

Picked up what I hope is a male today, he looked a little different than the male wallacii he was in with. Hopefully I wasn't just seeing things because I wanted to. Will do up pics in a bit, have to finish the WC first.

So I took a lot of pics but most of them didn't turn out. Super blury, enough to make my eyes water when looking at them on the monitor ...

This was the only somewhat clear shot of the male:

Not much to go on ID wise with this shot. Once he's settled in and realizes the female can't beat on him anymore because of the divider, I'll try again.

Got one semi-decent shot of the female chasing him around though:

You can see the male's tail on the right as he's fleeing. She colored up right away when he was introduced though. Prior to his intro, her belly was not showing any pink whatsoever. Though it's hard to tell in the pic, it's now a nice rosy hue.

I hope so too ... though, if they are like other cichlids from the Inirida ... it might be easier to breed noto's!!!

You should see when the tanins make it so dark, all you see is the red dorsal and the eye. Definitely stands out. Can't see anything else though *lol*

This two are for you Ryan ... they are horribly out of focus, but the red in the dorsal really glows. I wonder if Peanut will still claim noto's still have the best dorsal fin after seeing her.

so im curious as to where you got these from then? Ordered from the wetspots aquabid or from somewhere in seattle? The only place i know that gets their fish from them is Sierra Pets?

I got The female up in Bridges in Snohomish ... though Denny's (Kirkland) occasionally orders from them as well, and so does A Place for Pets in Burien. The (hopeful) male came from APFP.

I don't think Sierra in Renton orders from them anymore actually, according to one of the fish guys.

I'd really like to get more shots of the male for you guys ... but this is usually all I see of him:

The female pretty much keeps the bottom to herself ... I'll keep trying though, sometimes he come out and they'll flare at each other before he runs for cover. Quick buggers when that happens, no good shots yet. I keep trying though.
