well smart guy fish do not breed unless given the proper conditions and care. Guppy's are another lame comparison as they would breed in a toilet but than again that's probably the extent of your fish keeping ability's, so stick to turtles dude. Try real fish and than talk to me acting like you know what you are talking about.

Ok, I believe I see your logic here. I cannot use an example that is detrimental to your view. Kind of hard to argue with that, I guess. So, any fish that breed under extremely poor conditions are just "exceptions" to your rule.

Oh, and btw, the "try real fish" comment is highly amusing. You have never seen my tanks, yet you seem to know exactly what I keep. Interesting.

Once again, I just hope the inevitable does not come.

Also, if you want to be taken seriously, try not to talk like a five year old. And buy a dictionary.

why would I care what you think bud you are the one crying like a babe over my choice of gravel I am laughing here at you
I do not care what fish you keep either. You made it quite clear with your comments the extent of you knowledge in that area so were good;)

I will give you a nice little update in a couple months and than you can talk again cool

If one would reread this thread, they might find a different view point. You don't seem to take constructive criticism very well.

He's welcome to keep any animals in any way that he would wish to keep them, as long as they aren't abused or neglected. That's his right. He posted pictures of his setup on the forum, so if others want to post what they believe to be constructive criticism that would benefit the health of his pets (whether he chooses to believe so or not) then that is their right.

If you don't want people to make suggestions or criticisms as for your choice of care, then don't post in a way that will surely bring those suggestions and criticism. And don't antagonize people with extremely immature posting, reinforcing their belief that you don't know what you're doing in regard to caring for those animals. And don't belittle people who know what they're talking about from years of experience.

Really, you can do whatever the hell you want. Just don't expect anyone else to agree with the way you do things, and don't be surprised if they don't.

p.s.- They are very nice turtles. I hope they do well in your care and avoid any health issues. Besides the disagreements on substrate, they're awesome reptiles and I wish I had a few myself. Congratulations on having some cool little turtles.

Oh, and not trying to start anything else here, but what kind of future setup do you have in mind for them? Huge tank, or indoor/outdoor pond? It will be really neat to see several large softshells in a tank, although they can be pretty species-aggressive from what I've heard.

I found a baby red ear slider (I guess) in my yard looking kinda beat up. Raccoon or something had chewed on his shell. Stuck him in my tank for a little while, gave him a few meals then let him go in a pond. Got a few pics before tho :)

Cute little guy!

For future reference though, you don't want to take something out of the wild, and then reintroduce it, ESPECIALLY if it has been in your fish tank, or in contact with any other animals.
