Waitress messed up my Bank Acct!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
last monday i went to buy a book and my card wasnt working so i called up my bank to find out my card has been frozen due to the fact some 1 tried buying crazy amounts of clothes with it and i had to go 2 my bank in the AM so i go over there and start talking to a customer rep. she asks for my card i give it 2 her and she cuts it up and tells me they need to look in 2 all the activity and if they find out i didnt buy the clothes they will give me a new card and my money back in a week or so. i couldnt get any money out of my ACC and i had rent due the following day and my landlord is now furious with me and wants 2 kill me -.-

and if the manager had refunded that night... then there wouldn't be such a problem.. and that's also her fault, for not notifying the manager immediately:D!![/QUOTE]

fishmamma I totally with you. I have been in management forever and if there is one thing I hate its for a customer to leave my establishment unhappy and have to come back or call to complain. I would rather the customer always come to me or my staff so what ever the situation I can correct it for them immediately.

Wow your bank sucks. I bank with Bank of America. About 8 years ago an x of mine stole my debit card and cleared out my account with in a few days. Bank of America had all the money back in my account with in 24 hours. Of coarse they did all the legal stuff with the police and every thing just make sure I wasn't lying.

I also have always been in management practically all my work life, and I strongly believe in good customer service..

Nice to know not everyone thinks just because it's a mistake, that you should only get a little slap on the hand...

Where's the guillotine?!?!?!? JK <it's a joke, take it that way.

Why stop there? I'm sure we can have her killed in some Islamic countries. Seriously though, mistakes happen, and she's not entitled to anything other than having the mistake fixed. Punitive damages, emotional distress, etc, etc are all not applicable in this situation. And it's a lot easier for a manager to comp the meal that night, and not days or weeks later. Just sayin'
CCs are a much better form of protection from your money than a bank card. If you use the CC as a bank card and pay it off every month, then you have effectively given yourself more protection than a bank card.
If a bank card is compromised, your money is removed and it takes a few days to clear up that identity theft or w/e. In the mean time, you're without money because it *is* removed from your account. Doesn't sound too great to me! If your CC is compromised, charges are reversed, and no money is ever taken from your bank account. You also have that debit card available in case of emergencies. I can't imagine *not* using a credit card. I use mine for everything, enjoy my cash back, and pay it off every month. This makes everything 1.5% cheaper every month. I think I have a few hundred in rewards waiting to be redeemed.
Very well put, Clay!

lol assasination @ Islamic countries. This thread is geting wackier by the minute

Well put, up until you have to deal with it..

Which can consist of ...

Having to miss work, leading to less money (depending), to a not so happy boss, to not so happy co-workers cause they have to pic up your slack....

Using a lot more gas than normal, remember the OP lives 45min from this establishment..

Frusteration from having to miss work, leading to less money (depending), a not so happy boss, to not so happy co-workers cause they have to pic up your slack....and the gas issue... and really the list is endless...

All because Miss. Waitress didn't contact the manager during the situation.... :D not saying either that all managers are bright, this could still be happening even if the manager had been contacted... which really all comes back to the waitress.. and her inability to complete a simple transaction correctly the first time...

Dont get me wrong we all make mistakes, but that little CC machine gives you several chances to make it right.. all she had to do was cancel and redo.. but no, she did it enough times for the OP's bank to freeze her account because they suspected theft...

No one would be happy with this situation, and more so, would want more than it just to be fixed on behalf of the waitress... Clay you would even want to take down Miss. Waitress.. messed up bank account = :swear: people!

Yay!! Happy Sunday!! really it is.. I'm just voicing my opinion... :D:):D:):D

Again, if you're not happy with the situation, escalate it. If you leave the establishment unsatisfied, that's your fault too. And yes, I have dealt with it. And if you use a CC, you'll have another method of getting at your money (debit and atm cards).

As far as the OP living 45 minutes away, I'm not sure what that has to do with it... unless this establishment or he OP doesn't have a phone?

I think it's silly (and indicative of today's society) to want to put the onus on someone else (or an establishment). The waitress messed up, the OP had her life inconvenienced by the mistake, and somehow the establishment should pay for her gas, her time, and whatever else has been mentioned in this thread. S I L L Y.

Life is a series of inconveniences strung together by gorilla glue and duct tape.

Good points from someone who knows how these things work...Mistakes can be costly, where I work management looks to termination as a deterrant or a lesson.
