Have had my debit card frozen when travailing and it was used multiple times in one day across several states. Was an inconvenience but just took a phone call to fix it. I once had a new CC card that was more of a pain because it was preset to work only in the state I lived in. I never used it except when travailing and found it would not work. That was a more pointed call about "what were they thinking, out of state is when I am most likely to use the card" it got fixed but then happened again next time I was out of state, got rid of the card.

Really, mistakes happen. Next time anyone here makes a mistake you should be fired. She ran the card twice by mistake and then canceled. It sucks but really people get over it. Everyone should have an extra CC for emergencies.
Advice given to me by multiple economists: CC are terrific. As long as you do not charge more than you can pay. Someone (CC) will loan you money to cover your bills for 20 something days. I pay everything I can on CC. I earn cash back, I never owe money, and I keep my cash in a money market earning interest until I pull it to pay the CC. If you are a disciplined person they are amazing.

i dunno, she might have been using an old system that lagged. putting the wrong charge on a card is pretty common but i dunno how she could have voided one transaction twice..thats impossible to do on my restaurants system lol
I think everyone got the credit card lesson here but the poster did mention being jobless currently.The balance on the card would be due and that would be one more thing to deal with on top of not being able to get his/her money when it was needed.Sadly,people do get fired for making mistakes.
Clay = I didn't know my Bankcard was still going to be screwed up after leaving there. It has NEVER happened to me before! I only want this to happen : * my banking straightened out, * an apology from the waitress, * and want the Owner to know what happened because of HER mistake, * and want to know straight from waitresses mouth if this has happened before BY HER, * her to say in front of her Boss that's she's sorry and that it won't happen again to anyone else! How hard is it to write the last name of the person on CC, next to the amount of the bill they are responsible for, BEFORE she left the table with our CC's???
