So I've read this whole thread and here is my advice. Ever try renting a room instead? Its a good way to get out w/o having the hassle of your own place. Meet some new people too. You'll probably have to give up the tank for a while or, downsize. Arround here tanks are like any other pet or, more so as we take a pet deposit plus insurance and, don't accept tanks anyplace over 1 story. Flooding yourself is one thing, flooding the guy downstairs is a nightmare! (I'm a landlord) Also, we don't accept cosignors that are not family members and that do not live in state. Another thing to think about is, my power cost in maintaining a large tank is about $100/month as is. Give up the cig's for your health alone. (We also charge for repainting and carpet cleaning a place if its been smoked in) And, if your considering employment, you may want to figure this into a living situation as I hate to commute and live 2 miles from work. But yeah, as mentioned, time to spread your wings and fly away.
 
well i had to promise my grandad again thqt id stay cause i have no way of getting a co-signer or being able to bring my stuff out of the house. he said if i stay one more year he will co-sign for me, so i doont really know what to do anymore, i have 600 buxs saved up in my account, and the aca convention is comming up so i may just take a stab at goin to the aca, again i dont really now what to do anymore, im tired of having to live in a living room! im tired of not being able to do water change once a week! ONLY allowed once a month to do water change, and im also tired of them telling me what i can and cannot buy! i was gunna get some 5 hour energy drink ( the healthy kind ) for 25 cents each but nooooooo i couldnt, yes im gunna give up smoking. i have 4 cigs left and a pack of cigars ( cigars last me a week )

man i just wish my mom was alive ( i wo9uldnt have my big tank but still she would now what to do and she would help me out ALOT )

just carry on what you're doing now, carry on saving and you'll have a lot more when you move. don't spend any of it until you've moved, then you'll be happy you had another year to save up.
 
btw you sound really unhappy, but if you're going to do this, then you gotta do this the right way. what if you leave now then you realise you can't do it by yourself yet because of your finance? the worse thing is leaving and then coming back.

why not? they're your grandparents right? if you can't come back then maybe you should think of renting a room like someone else said
 
becouse ive been back in forth living with her 3 times ( 1 time when my mom was alive we lived here ) and the 2 times is after she passed away, no im not happy living here for a few reasons,

1: i hate having a living room as my bedroom
2: i hate paying 400 for rent ( 300 rent 100 food )
3: im tired of fighting with my aunt everyday
4: im tired of others controling my money
5: im just tired of living with family members period!
6: im tired of them thinking my hobby is so dam easy! thinking *oh you only do water change once a month* * oh you dont need anymore tanks this one is big enough* blah blah blah
7: im just tired of everyone controling me!
8: im tired of them saying stuff about you guys! they think you all may be killes murders kidnapper adult napper blah blah blah! grrrrrrrr ive been a member here for almost 6 yeaers i think so i should now by now if you guys are bad or not!

thoses are SOME of the reasons,
and i have noone that has a spare room available.
