water softener salt vs aquarium salt thread

ive been using it in the aquariums for over a year, in the koi pond, for a several years

I use the yellow bag "sun gems"

When salt supplementation is advised, Morton recommends using Morton® White Crystal® Solar Salt or Morton® Canning and Pickling Salt for fish ponds and fresh water aquariums

The Sun gems is the "Mortan Solar Salt" if I'm not mistaken and is safe to use.
Can anyone back me up on this?

It's 99.5% pure salt with no additives. Like the anti rust stuff and that other crap.

Sometimes you'll find rocks

Until about a year ago, Petsfart used this same kind of salt in ALL of their systems. Whenever one of us (Aquatic Managers) would run out of
DC supply we would go buy this stuff to use until we were replenished. I would go through a whole bag of this in a week.
