Hmm, a Biotope would be cool! I'll look into that. Would it cause my fish to hide or be shy?

A shy fish without adequate cover is a stressed fish.

If they get enough cover then they may warm up and be more outgoing

Why asending sending someone to Jeff Rapps for a convict biotope? Convicts are cheap and common,I am sure he can get a nice one locally, Maybe even for free. A convict biotope is easy to set up,a quick google search will yield plenty of pictures and advice. All you need is some pool filter sand, rocks/ driftwood, some anubias and/or vials, and you're good to go.

For a biotope tank I'd say lots of rocks, some Vallisneria on the one side and some river sand with a bit of wood here and there. That seems to be the natural sort of habitat according to google :)
