What do you HATE about fish keepers/keeping?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Elitists (i.e. People who think they know everything and look down on others, people who have to have the best of the best just because they can and flaunt it, greedyness "overcharging for fish")

Pleco poop (holy crap I've sen horses crap less)

The price of fish tanks (makes me sad :()

Never having enough space for all the fish I want (1 bedroom apt)

Water changes with a 5 gal bucket (got biceps of a beast now though lol)

Look I've breed rays, cons, firemouths, FH, and even Koi around my area. Bottom line is this you have more people that no nothing about the fish they want than ppl that rescreach what they would like to have. Honestly all you can do is try and give as much info as you can an hope they haev too. And if not done all you can do to know everything you can you can on a fish you dont keep. Doesnt seem like much but in DE i think i have every fish we are aloud to keep covered...and than some just ask my GF

I dont like alot of this people in this hobby

I hate that I can't just go out and get a big ol' monster tank, and even if I could, feeding my three small tanks, two dogs, two cats, and 9 rats is already a big strain on the disposable income. At least I'll be buying a old 75 this weekend, order some hydoclear sponges and make a stand outta cinder blocks next pay day, more filtration two checks after that...and in this way I can keep on saving up for a sturdy little home and quit renting some time in the next year or two....and then start thinking about 500G+
Patience sucks.
The feeding, tank cleaning, and animal grooming is the stuff that relaxes me.

Hate the electric bill
Hate seeing public tanks (in doctors offices, etc) that are poorly taken care of
Hate not being with my fish while I am at college :(
Hate power outages!!! !!! !!! and a few more !!!!!!
Hate cHiclids
Hate when people used to ask if my Pacu (RIP) was a piranha
Hate the misspelling of piranha
Hate chiclids again/still
Hate when people knock on the glass to make the fish move or to drive them crazy

I would first like to say if the hobby is something that you have a hate for, take some corrective measure to fix what is wrong whether it be in how you are doing it or how much you are doing it.

Personally I hate nothing about this hobby.

Now the only thing I do sort of have a strong dislike for (which could be easily cured by allowing me to chef up some filter sludge into a dish for them) are the people who have to be such internet thugz or fish nazi's.

I would even give the dish a fantastic name and make it look so great and taste so wonderful and would not tell them what they had eaten till it was all gone. It would be the best 6 course meal they had ever eaten until I told them they had eaten fish poop six ways :)

I hate that all the good deals are in Socal

I hate coming of "preachy" when I try to convince people I know that they should have a test kit or try explaining anything that is beyond their current fish keeping experience. I can tell it is going in one ear and out the other lol

I used to hate test kits when I was a noob because my ammonia level was always over 8, more like 50, but my fish (hardy stuff like Oscars and Piranhas) were all fine. I thought the test results must be inaccurate or defective. And I resented the results. This was many moons ago.
