Yes they can see you...I know mine recognize the bottle of pellets too.

This is true. Mine definitely behave differently when I grab a container of pellets than when I am just sitting beside the tanks.

Burt :)

I always feed my tanks in a certain order. My brackish tank is first. It's about 15 feet away from my Cichlid tank. Once the Cichlids see me feeding the brackish guys, they all begin to group up together under the lid. By the time I get there, they have worked themselves up into a Piranha like frenzy.

I am surprised that, not only can they see, but they can see that clearly and that far away! But, it shouldn't be a surprise I guess. In the wild, good eyesight would be a prerequisite to survival :)

Depends on the fish

Captive bred - The kind person who gave it a place to call home

Wild caught - The evil b*****d who deprive it of it's freedom

Yea when I thaw out the tilapia for my bigger SA cichlids I do it next to the tank. They all just stare at it and drool

As someone who has hundreds, if not thousands of hours on the wet side of the viewing windows, I can tell you for a FACT, they see out just as much as we see in.

i know mine see out fine since they watch me threw the day but my Osacr also see's his reflection when he attacks the glass and threatens himself in it.

I have seen sometimes my Goldfish will come over and look out the part of the tank facing the TV on the other side of the room and watch it a little bit when it is on in that they all come to the side facing the TV but not when the TV is off.

I just turned around in my chair and saw my 7 year old comet was just staring at me:ROFL: Shes still looking at me.. still is. still is....... ok now shes not I fed them:D

Maybe she was watching me surf this forum?
