What does a fish see when it looks through the glass?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When I approch the main tank.. all 8 fish follow me.. when my husband does.. only 3... Guess which one of us generally feeds the tank?

Unfortunately, all my fish get to see is a drunk old man with a beer just sitting and staring back at them.

When I feed my puffer a silverside, I hold it on the outside of the tank and slowly make circles with it... He follows it all over the place, then I bring it to the top, open the lid and give it to him. He gets so happy... this works with lionfish too... lol

They see very well especially aros... I was playing fetch with my wife's pomeranian mix the other day with her little stuffed toy. Every time the toy would go down the length of brutus's tank(my monster jar), he would chase after it mouth open. The funny thing is that he has tankmates smaller than the stuffed toy, which he doesn't bother with. I think he just wanted to play...He needs the exercise!!!!! Fish are crazy...
If you want recognition just lift the tops on my tank!!!!!!

I thought you did that if you wanted him in your lap. LOL

I have a blue and gold macaw who likes to stare at the fish. He was sitting in front of the tank when a blood parrot comes and stares at him. My bird stared back. They stared at eachother for about a minute and my bird finally said, "hello!"

Depends on the fish

Captive bred - The kind person who gave it a place to call home

Wild caught - The evil b*****d who deprive it of it's freedom

I have actually observed the exact opposite with my eartheaters. I think the wild caught ones are more "grateful" for the food I give them, because they have actually had to hunt for it before.
