What is the coolest fish you have seen at petsmart or petco

A whole tank of geophagus brasiliensis at my local petco and I have seen other geophagus there in the past. Sometimes some cool flowerhorns, middevils, discus senegal bichir, mayan cichlid, an EBJD that they called a colbalt jack dempsey that looked quite different from the average ebjd. They seem to always have bucktooth tetras or exodons there. Probably more cool fish but I can't think of anymore off the top of my head. My petco is basically my lfs. No better fish store than that petco within 30 minutes of my location. Good care, knowledge, and everything.

Maybe in your experience but it all depends on management and who is taking care of the fish. I've heard of both amazing and horrible petcos and petsmarts.
That’s so true, the petco near me had a an actual fish expert running the department and it was as good as any LFS, but then he got promoted and sent to another location. The guy that replaced him knows the general stuff about fish, but is not an expert and the fish department is now more typical of a box store He over heard me giving another customer that never kept fish before some pointers and tried to hire me lol

I've seen many fish that people donate to Petco. For example I've seen a Banded Leporinus, Red Devil, Pike Cichlids.
Banded Leps used to be a lot more common, all over petsmarts. Still plenty of devils by me though. Can’t say I’ve seen any pikes though.
