stingrays is the only freshwater fish that can REALLY SEND YOU TO THE HOSIPTAl.

Actually a mekong cat stabbed some guy through the chest and killed him, wish i could find the article on it.

Had a think, and I'd probably say an electric eel if you were a child, middle-aged and above or had heart issues. The occies and coneshells, well, tetrodotoxin's got a short half-life, so if someone finds you, realises what's up and gives you CPR for a coupla hours, you'll live with no adverse affects. You've also got a coupla minutes in most cases (with the exception of the blue cone, which will just outright drop you) until you go down. Electricity doesn't afford you that luxury.

Mind you, the eel would have to really want to hit you to electrocute you hard enough that you'd go into instant cardiac arrest.

blue ringed octopus....

I'd have to agree. These are occasionally shipped as other octopuses. If you get stung, it's lights out almost instantly. From what I have read, you will be conscious while you die, but you won't be able to see or move. Scary.

Not true, other predatory fish dont always run from you. Poeple get bit and attacked all the time from their aggressive/predatory fish. My little 5 inch Perch didnt run, he actually charged at my hand AND bit me on several occasions.

well i guess the blue ring otci wins! though, if you put my mother in law in the tank, she would give it a run for its money.

Heteropneustes fossilis fossil catfish, spines have poison that can kill, its a really nice catfish though thats regularly kept in aquaria
