I would go with clean glass and have a pretty interesting fish only while having an adequate maintenance regime in place to cope with the waste they produce.
nothing prettier than an albino bristlenose IMO. they look pretty and even work quite hard on keeping surface algae to a minimum. every bristlenose or sailfin pleco ive had has been very active through the day.
waste with sky high nitrates shouldnt be that big an issue if you are prepared for housing a pleco and the maintenance. which, like any fish, you should be before you buy it.
predatory fish also make huge volumes of waste yet there are no complaints.
