Sorry for the late response, computer problems. Yes they are Colombian Blues and whatever locations we cross( Location X with Location Z or Location Z with Rio Magdalena) will still make Colombian Blue Umbees. Same species just different populations in different rivers. As for the hobby you stated species are often referred by the country of orgin, This is somewhat true but not entirely. In the hobby Fish are sold by there collecting points or "River of Origin." For example Rio Copan Motaguense, Rio Blanco Motaguense, Rio Heredia Dovi or Lake Arenal Dovi etc. Same species from two different collecting points and colors may vary. This helps the customers to Identify which strain or variant of that particualr species they like and can help the suppiler with sales. You also asked if the Green and Blue Umbriferum are genetically different. If you are referring to Panama Green Umbriferum I believe that it is a sub species and not a color variant of Caquetaia Umbriferum, But I am no geneticist and will leave that up to the scientist to make that call. There is a green color variant of Colombian Umbriferum that does exsist. Also a population of BLACK UMBRIFERUM that is green when small but as the fish matures turns black. I hope this helps brotha and thank you again. UMBEEKING
Thank you Chris for helping clear that up
