End the talk and the "supposed" agenda by answering the question. Both the collector and the middleman have been asked, but neither has answered. THAT is what perpetuates the situation. Agendas can go both ways too you know!

The question is and has been "where is Vontehillo?"

That question is fine, you should ask it, & keep asking it until you get a response you find reasonable. If your not happy with the response, or lack of one, then I would not buy the fish, or deal with the vendor...

More importantly my "FO" Umbees from the Cihlid king Mr. Jeff Rapps laid a boat load of eggs today. (4th spwan) You can see them to the left covering that piece of bluestone, & a few on the bottom of the PVC. If you have room come pick up as many fry as you want.

Thanks for the advice. I'll follow it but reserve the right to take more away from the possible lack of an answer than to just not buy the fish though!

The umbee part was pretty random. Start a new thread. I want to see the parents!

I think a lot of people (like me) just want to know if this is a 'new' variant or just some kind of line breeding experiment or naturally occurring hybrid. That's all. Conspiracy theorists crack me up. I like the look of this fish and want more info on it that no one seems willing to provide. I'm not the one that pointed out there is no Vontehillo in Mexico (at least according to current info). That just seems strange to me is all. People get all upset when a question is raised. I don't get that. Blind faith is just that..blind. Sorry if my 'tone' is negative but a lot can get lost when typing something vs talking about it. Answers would put this whole thing to bed.

And yeah, where'd the umbee thing come from?

just saw the eggs tonight. Thought I would lighten things up, & share. Sorry bout that, guess I should have started a new thread. I will when they hatch - Gnite

Hi guys, just pick up a pair of F0 Carpintis Vontebillo, those have huge pearls and turquoise in color. If you guys have any rare variety of Carpintis other than Escondido, Chariel, and Lahillas, please post them here.

Hi Dominator. You got a nice Carpinte Vontehillo..

I dont have any Carpintes with rare city names. Right now I only have the Escondido race.. Sounds old fashion but it is original and beautiful to me. It's what I like..
Can't say wihch one is a better taste than which.. It's just what you like and it's your taste.
Too bad you ask for something other than what I have or else I'd post my fish for you... I have an Escondido. It's all good.. :)

Nice Carpinte Vontehillos that's for sure. I like how they are so well fed. Too bad the female died.. Hope you can find him another gf.

He may not have a rare city name...but he sure does have a nice little pagoda.

You could always make up another name for the fish that everyone knows as "Escondito"... and sell it as something different, new and rare. ;)

Matt

PS Really no more from me on this

My two favorite posts in this thread! (So far.)

Still disappointed that the people selling the "Vontehillo" fail to provide any feedback. It's easy enough to know they're watching the thread -- noticed one of them was last night..... Still no input though, so the lack of any response is clearly a strategic decision. I suppose if you don't respond your comments can't be disproven.

What I don't want to get lost is the beauty of the fish in this thread. I was at a store the other day that had several fish mislabeled. Having the wrong name by accident or for unscrupulous marketing purposes doesn't change the fish. A beautiful fish is a beautiful fish!
