Why can someone say that one fish is more deserving of being used as a feeder, than another fish? Excluding the feeder being endangered, diseased, dangerous or otherwise.

All fish are food for something. All fish of size are food for humans. A predatory fish isn't likely going to look at a three different species of fish and only it one that it specifically chooses. It's likely going to eat em all in order of easiest catch.

Aside from the catfish being oversized, I don't understand how people can say that a goldfish should have been used instead. If I moved to South East Asia I'd eat cats and dogs, but here they are pets.

Nutrition should really be the biggest concern, but most aquatic predators likely don't have too much trouble being provided with the required dietary needs.

Yet it is not natural environment and the owner shouldve gotten his SH just right size of any feeder fish, even smaller walking catfish, however he choose to see his SH to ripping the oversized catfish apart for just fun, i dont think we're just talking about nutrition or different species either, its size of the feeder fish that had to suffer for longer preiods

This is always a touchy subject...it's sick entertainment. I don't know much about Snakeheads in the wild, but I don't know if they would really tear a fish apart like this for a meal or if it would go for something more easily digestible. My thoughts are that if you claim to love fish, you wouldn't let another fish suffer even if it's a feeder. There are people out there who keep fish more as a novelty than a pet. I personally do not have any emotional attachment to my fish, but I respect them enough not to pull crap like this. If I give feeders, I never buy large. I usually get minnows or guppies. It may cost a bit more because I'll need more of them to fill up my fish, but I don't need my fish choking on anything it can't swallow in one gulp. I have a Chinese Perch that I can't get off live and I'm thinking of selling it because I don't like feeding live.

All being said, this type of vids are snuff films. Made by jerks, for jerks.

( i have nothing against feeders, and the use of them; I have against mauling "live on youtube " to the sound of music )

wow thats a beautiful fish... i want one!

In the wild they eat clarius this size, whats wrong with replicating nature?

Neat vid, its like the 2 channa in that other vid thats floating around taking down an 8" clarius

Simply because this is not replicating nature. We do not replicate nature in our tanks.
