Nova, settle down.
I would never put more than 2 O's in a 60. A 75 for 1 is my rule, then add 40G for each additional Oscar.
You may be able to have a few oscars in a 60 up untill they hit 6-8" but thats IT! Provide superior filtration. 10x
75 for 1 and 40 for each additional Oscar is absurd. That means my 6x2x2.5 (220) can hold about 4 3/5 Oscars with no other fish, I better get a new tank as I am grossly overstocked then, the 3 Oscars are pushing the limits let alone with the other fish included, I'll be over once the two I am growing up reach 5" and are added to the tank
The Trust's tank, which is 250 gal can hold about 5 3/5 Oscars, but of course he has P-bass and Aros in there so it's different
No one stocks like this, but when it comes to Oscars everyone jumps on the bandwagon and dribbles rubbish, why is this?

nova your wrong about the foot print of a 55g. it is 48 X 12 X 20
that is not good for one oscar seeing as how a lot of oscars get 13in+.
people cannot put 3 oscars in a 60g. i guess its "posible" but its also possible to cram a 14in. midas in a 10g.
Can you tell me the way to work out volumn using the Imperial system, here is australia we use the metric system, I find the imperial system confusion at best.
The tank is a 60gal, for all we know it could be only 3' long, or it could be 48"x14"x20"w. You don't know, but I still stand by my statement that it is possible. Oscars are happy aslong as they are fed. I bought a big tank for my Oscars and they sit near the area that they eat, sure they swim around but most of their day is spent waiting for food.
For both of you, I have a question. What is the minimum tank for 1 Arowana, what about 2, how many extra gallon need to be added?
