XBOX: Sold 25M in 5 years
PS2: Sold 136M in 8 years

XBOX: 5M a year
PS2: 17M a year, with an existing fanbase

I don't hate Xbox, just MS. HAHA. I already have to deal with them enough on my computer. LOL. I have a PS3 and a Wii. I have played Xbox (paper weight IMHO) and the 360 which is a good system just have always hated the controller set up and the games that I do like on there, I can get for PS3 and be more comfortable playing them. Also on a side by side comparison in one of the stores lacally, the PS3 plugged in through RCA was actually better than the 360 through HDMI. There are just not enough games that make me want to go out and by a 360. Sure I may get one eventually but not any time soon. I would have paid the bucks for the PS3 simply for the new Final Fantasy game that will come out soon enough. The only fault I saw in the PS3 is that they took away the backwards compatibility with PS2 on the newer models. Oh well I don't miss it at all.

And unless things have changed PS3 online is free vs paying a monthly charge to play 360 on live. It's like Guild Wars Vs World of Warcraft. Why pay to play a game online after you have already paid for the game.

I switched from Nintendo sytems to the 360 because the 360 had Forza and Halo, and because the controller for the 360 was a copy of the gamecube controller. There was no transition. I'm happy with my 360. It probably hasn't failed either due to the fact that I bought a late model, I installed an intercooler, or because I'm not a total nerd and I only play an hour at a time, and maximum 3 hours a week.

Well, as we all know, when you pay somebody to do something, USUALLY the end product is better.

I.e no paid staff on PSN to control the massive amounts of cheaters and the like, VS lag switchers that get ban hammered on XBL because we pay a staff to do so.

XBL: Cobra Custom

I had a feeling this would end up as a PS3 v X360. I bought the 360 because I enjoy gaming, at the time the PS3 was either just out or about to come out with one or two launch titles that weren't that good. I'd never owned a console before I just used the pc but that was getting silly, with every new game out something had to be upgraded and the cost was spiraling. So I felt the only option was to get a console.

I based the purchase just on the games that you could play on the system and M$ had a years head start, simple choice.

Yes I'm sure that the PS3 will be the console to have in a few years when space becomes an issue but the 360 still has a hard drive so there is a way around disc space so I'm not really that bothered about it.

At the moment there are no games out that either I don't fancy playing or I don't already have. Which brings me on the gamer score that pointless number that all 360 owners seem to aspire to. This is the one thing the Sony seemed to miss the boat on. As there is nothing out for me at the minute it gave me a chance to go on for the harder achievements I've missed in the past. Like being sat on 980/1000 on COD4 due the 'mile high club' which I now have. I was working on GH2 Jordan just before it broke.

The reliability must be getting better as the first time it went away it went to the uk repair center, this time it's gone to Germany.

As for the controller it's all I've ever know, I can going around to people who've got a PS3 and lose and they come here and lose because of the controller.

I almost forgot the Wii;):

Meh. Personally, I like the 360 more. But that is just me. The whole "360 is better. No, PS3 is better" crap gets old. Neither is better by themselves. The 360 is better for me, which is why I got it. Both are INCREDIBLE machines....

The wii....I dunno about that. It is fun, and I like it, dunno about buying one though. My friend (who may be splitting an apt with me in about 3 months) has one, and I just use his.

well said. the 360 has it's strengths and weaknesses, as does the ps3. This stated, these pros and cons will appeal to people differently. I wanted both the 360 and the ps3, however i ultimately chose the ps3 as the best fit for me. This isn't to say it will be the best for bobby. You have to look at the accessories and games released, and come up with your own decision.
