Ewurm adding the intercooler will evenually kill the xbox because, it runs off the same power as the xbox causing it to work hard and overheat fast.

Besides. MS should just do an add-on disc tray, like the HDDVD one they had. If they do a blu-ray player on the side like that, then they could produce two versions of the games: one blu-ray version, in much better condition, and one normal DVD version, in lower detail. Problem solved.

I agree with this, but I still don't think its how ms will handle the situation. They're gonna have a lot of pissed off people if they stop supporting the arcade version. The arcade version was a stupid marketing ploy and now its coming back to bite them in the arse.

I was also one of the suckers that bought into hd-dvd. I was an idiot for that one. I don't know how they'd handle making people buy another add-on to play bluray games.

If your box isn't modded and is still under warranty, I'd send it in. They replace it for free. If its out of warranty, then that will definitely do the trick. There are people that sell kits with more official looking parts, but pennies and towels do the trick. Taking the whole thing apart is a giant pain in the butt though. I need to take mine apart to flash an updated firmware, but keep putting it off because it takes me longer to rip it apart then flash it.

Two things: One is, MS is not "making" people buy anything. If you want it, you would buy it. Personally, I want a blu-ray player. If MS comes out with a addon, I will be first in line.

Second: Screw the people who bought the arcade version. They can play some games. Why should MS care that people who payed much less not be able to play everything? Shouldn't the people who payed more, be able to play more? Look at it as if you were buying a car....You opted to get the tiny 4 cylinder, instead of the 5.0 v6. Would you complain when the 5.0 v6 smokes you, or when it is both quicker on the line, as well as faster top end? Of course not! Then why do it with the console?

Note: This isn't directed at you, per se. I just reread it, and it sounds angrier then it should be, lol, but it wasn't meant to be.

After reading this I was kind of feeling sorry for the peeps with the arcade, but that sums it up perfectly;)

True. Although, that was reversed, lol, I just fixed it...

Haha, no offense taken. I got an elite the day it came out, I really couldn't understand why people would want the arcade either and to be honest, I 100% agree with you. I just don't see ms doing it that way.

Personally, I think the bluray option is silly though, just put all the info on one disc and have it download the rest of the needed data from live and store it on your hard drive.

I don't think disc media has a future with web connections constantly getting faster and hard drives constantly getting bigger. Its still probably a ways off, but I think its coming.

I can't see M$ ever bringing out a blueray drive, they took a gamble on hddvd and it failed so they were like 'ok we'll stop selling it'. No fuss, but to go for blueray would admit they backed the wrong horse. Direct to drive consoles or disc to console, like the post above about forza is the way it will happen.

The elites were supposed to have the newer chips in them that don't get as hot. I've had mine for 2 years now, maybe longer, I can't remember and so far no problems. It's also very well ventilated too.

I believe the new ones today, have better boards, chips, and heatsinks which should fix the problem altogether.
