Your least favorite aquarium fish and why

Thought you were a purist
Haha, I’m a semi purest. I generally like fish as they are naturally, but I usually don’t mind mixing continents. Flowerhorn are probably the only man made/hybrid type I like, but that’s because of their awesome personality

I'm all for genetically pure fish myself, but mixing up continents is fine with me as long as the fish in question have similar water chemistry, habitats, and attitudes.

Oh come on pal, I've got to jump in and pull you on that one, I'm extremely disappointed, lol. The red shoulder severum, in all of its spectacular glory, is one of the most stunning fish in the hobby.

I'm not usually a huge cichlid fan but the chocolate cichlid won me over, so I got one, and I've got my eye on the red shoulder severum now as well. They are breathtaking.

I know it's coming up to summer in your neck of the woods and the temps are rising. Maybe you've been sitting in the sun too long and caught a bit of sunstroke and you're not thinking clearly, lol.

It does look nice and I can see why people like them but they just dont float my boat. They seem more like a big tetra to me than a cichlid, they dont give me the cichlid vibe at all.

You should get another chocolate cichlid instead for your new tank, I can only imagine their breeding colours if you end up with a pair.

Weather is getting nice here now, 27C today, even better we have a nice long weekend coming up, we actually get a public holiday for the Melbourne cup horse race. 1 whole paid day off work to watch a 3 minute horse race!

Specially flowerhorns

IMHO, flowerhorns have things very rough. Those massive yet delicate nuchal humps condemn them to lives of enrichment-free bare tanks, because enriching decor would break the hump.
