Okay, so today I got..I think they're called Peace Lilys? I've heard of people using them...got two of them.

I actually don't mind having the roots showing, I think it would be cool if they wrapped around the driftwood. But will the fish to to eat the roots?

How do I put in the second one, though? From the bottom of the tank to the waterline is the size of the plant, and I plan on filling the tank even higher...any ideas?

Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong! :)

If you fill the water higher, you will probably need to position the plant higher. Since you don't have a top, it's not a problem...but if your plant can support itself upright, then buy a sheet of egg crate and cut a hole where you want your plant to be then it will be supported.

Do you always wear fashion jewelry when working on your tank? :)

Don't judge me ;) I model, I have to keep up my appearance, even on a trip to Lowes!!
I actually bought eggcrate today, so that's a really good idea!! I shouldn't have to worry about the Bichirs getting out by climbing up the plants and onto the eggcrate? I've heard they're escape artists.

That plant idea looks good in your tank, don't think you will have any escapes with the water level that low. You could use some river rocks and maybe a branch more. Nice cat by the way.

I want to go to the river and collect more rocks but our river charges $10 to get in at every road...and my season pass expired ):

&regarding the water level, I'm actually wanting to raise it all the way to the top

I will echo another user's comment to go check out any local landscaping suppliers. The one I went to really didn't care if we rolled rocks around and hand-picked them. They charged something like 8 cents a pound, I got about 150 pounds of rock for 13 bucks -- a hair more than a day pass to that park that you'd be stealing from. ;)

I also use Michaels hobby store fake plants.

If you want to raise the water level to the top, you are definitely going to have to raise that peace lily. It may like sogginess, but it's not going to survive being submerged.

I never know which fake plants are aquarium safe.
