u can do someting like this i use flower pots ,river rock ,fake plants ,branches of grape in the middle of the tank some plants surround by river rock and bubbles came out in the middle of the plants hope u can understand sorry for my English

I actually don't mind having the roots showing, I think it would be cool if they wrapped around the driftwood. But will the fish to to eat the roots?
How do I put in the second one, though? From the bottom of the tank to the waterline is the size of the plant, and I plan on filling the tank even higher...any ideas?
Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong!

If you fill the water higher, you will probably need to position the plant higher. Since you don't have a top, it's not a problem...but if your plant can support itself upright, then buy a sheet of egg crate and cut a hole where you want your plant to be then it will be supported.

I will echo another user's comment to go check out any local landscaping suppliers. The one I went to really didn't care if we rolled rocks around and hand-picked them. They charged something like 8 cents a pound, I got about 150 pounds of rock for 13 bucks -- a hair more than a day pass to that park that you'd be stealing from.
I also use Michaels hobby store fake plants.
If you want to raise the water level to the top, you are definitely going to have to raise that peace lily. It may like sogginess, but it's not going to survive being submerged.
