Just found 125 gallon for $300 thinking about it

Expensive for a sump conversion IMO. But I don't know that market or how the funny money works up there :P

Keeping rays and arowana are not cheap!! My friends who see my fish always say they would like to keep rays and aros someday...I tell them to start saving now!! They are expensive fish, but the cost of keeping them far outways the initial cost of the fish. Well worth it though. My rays and my aro are the center focus of life. Couldn't imagine life without them

After reading your fishroom thread I can see why! That is quite a set up man! It's actually more expensive to do what your doing than to do what I do. I know from experience! I used to keep thousands of small fish in dozens of small tanks. Very expensive. I'm down to 12 tanks of fish right now. The lowest number of tanks I've had in years! Problem is I went up in gallons!

That's about $220 US so I think it's a decent price on it. It might seem a little expensive for a sump but it will really give your tank a great filtration setup.

Another reason I would recommend the 125 is because it is 6ft long. This will really give you the best tank for installing baffles into. It will give you a lot of length to install your different sections and components.

Also, if the seller is asking $300, try to offer/talk them down to $200.

Big tanks are easier than small tanks in many ways :) We are at 30 tanks and around 860 gallons right now. Slowly but surely getting there in our (my) free time.

That is the talk down price lol. I guess if I'm going to pay $3000 for the primary tank I should suck it up for the sump haha. This stuff adds up though! Quite the hobby

Yep, this stuff does add up fast. My 220 took off in a hurry on me. I'm really pleased with it though. The only thing I really wish I would have done differently at this point would have been to get a 75, or maybe even a 90, for my sump, instead of the 55. Hence, my suggestion you go ahead and go with a 125. Look at it this way, that $300 is still much cheaper than the canisters. By the time you're finished with the sump setup I bet it will still come in cheaper than the canisters.

Don't know, never tried to clean em.
If they are true union maube try giving them a scrub with a pipe cleaner.

I dont think there is ever a size we would be content with lol. I regret not making my sump to match the length of the display tank
