Help Bichir sick :(

hey guys he is growing back his fins being more active like before and faded redness in fins! I am getting a heater on sunday and am ordering on eBay which will come rather quickly. I am doing water changes every other day. I added boiling water and used a thermometer to see the temp. and it is around 75 now. He still doesn't eat even when I plop garlic smoked shrimp and tilapia right in front of his face. Is feeding really necessary or should I wait until hunger gets the better of him and he eats. Also should I leave the one piece of food in there until tom. morning. He usually from my experience observing him eats when its pitch dark lol.

Take the food out. Don't leave it in overnight. Try a live night crawler or earthworm. Should work and trigger feeding.
 
If it didn't eat just change it tomorrow and take out food. But check ur water prior to changing. It gives an idea of where ur at and where ur numbers need to be.
 
Hey guys sorry for no update but the bichir is a lot better. No redness on fins and growing back. However, he doesn't eat even earthworm? what to do?
 
What was the fish eating before it was injured?
