Help Bichir sick :(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What was the fish eating before it was injured?
he ate tilapia and shrimp pieces. I just have her for like 2 months now and she was being fed live food and according to the pet workers "we would be lucky when she ate krill", which is why she is always finicky around food.

okay.. I put in more worms but he hasn't touched them.. because they can survive underwater for a while, i will leave them overnight and see how he does with them. The previous worm that he did devour was at night as well so i guess the polypterus likes to eat at night? also how do i make a thread in poly section? do you think it would be a good idea to make a thread about the beginning and on of the setup and learning processes of keeping the lap and also changes in the decor/ plants? also thinking about a compatible tank mate for the bichir that will not put me in the stress i had to go through.... I was thinking of besides more bichirs a few severums, maybe a leporinous, some discus? any other suggestions of fish that will make the tank brighten up cause my bichir really just stays at the bottom and may go up for air and is kinda boring to watch lol. Also any fish that will grow decent size, not too expensive (meaning lower than 50) and readily available that can be found at LFS or big box store. Thxs guys and good night!

Polys are active at night. Mainly nocturnal. But yes...post in the poly section. That's what the members there do to help. So you can get the right food, aquarium size, heater, tankmates etc.

Can't go wrong with the poly section here.
