Looks like the convict was big to me. This is one of those things, that is possible, but probably not the most common occurance. I have also kept a footlong Oscar with a convict, and various other 5"ish cichlids, with no problem. But certainly possible for a fully grown O to try and eat a fish of that size. O's have expandable mouths, moreso than something like a melanurum. Whether you want to chance it, is up to you.

The Sajica will already be paired and have a bit of size...Are you sure a oscar can eat a 5-8 in large bodied fish??



I want to try and keep everything relatively peaceful. What catfish can fit this tankisn'tt isnt very aggressive. Maybe lima shovelnose??

They do like groups, but get quite large. I feel like a group of 4 would be a lot with those other fish. I used to have one that was a full 12", I liked him quite a bit. Good catfish to keep

Don’t know about the vieja pair, if I were you I would keep it sa or ca. You could do a large vieja community with around 6 vieja and some smaller centrals like salvini and convicts. Or do SA with the cats and oscar and severums. I would do a solo Oscar, severum pair, chocolate Cichlid and then a group of geophagus like red heads as well as the 4 ornates. Maybe some pike Cichlids as well

Should be fine, the BGK isn’t SA but should work and it should be a great tank, pretty light stocking imo so should be easy to maintain. If you wanted you could add one or two more fish in there to complete the tank. Maybe a green terror or another severum.

Pretty sure the bgk is a south american fish...
