Overstocking Agressive CA Cichlids

Start with about six small guys with a bunch of hiding spots. Your best bet would be raising them together, but even that won’t guarantee they all live. If you start them out at the same small size at the same time in your tank your odds will at least be somewhat better. Adding fish after you already have established centrals usually is pretty tricky.

I also believe in that but temperature and tank size also matter too

You could also do what I have done and set up a CA/SA community of semi-aggressive cichlids. I currently have pairs of T-bars, Firemouths, Rainbow cichlids, Blue Acaras and one female Salvini in a 140 gallon tank. Only the T-bars and Acaras spawn regularly, there wouldn't be enough room if all of them spawned. Normally there isn't much aggression, but sometimes Salvini and Blue Acaras cause some troubles by chasing and biting others. This setup is very fun to watch, but you need a lot of hiding spots and sight breakers to make it work.

I'm actually doing that and possibly add jag.. Any experience with jag?
