120 gallon plywood/acrylic tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well that should be soon i just drained it and started the proses of moving it inside the house boy does it look bigger now that it is in its new home

well the tank is in its final home finally i put 2 cubic feet of rock in the tank and it covered my jets perfectly. i also installed the ATBA acrylic and set up my lights. tomorrow i will be getting some switches to wire up so that the all the lights will be on one switch and the pump and heater will be on another switch. also i decided to nix the background because it was going to be too much effort and i did not feel like waiting for the cement to fully cure. so i will be using a standard aquarium background from the LFS. also i just found an awesome stump that i will be ordering soon that will give my fish a safe hide out from the turtle.

here is a pic of the stump and my tank in its new home.

Looks good.. that stump will make a nice addition.. congrats on a job well done!

well guys i ordered my stump i had to get a different one but i think i like it better also i started working on my new background. i went to the LFS and found two different backgrounds that i liked one for the ATBA part of the tank and the other for inside the tank and patch worked it together what do you think of it? next step cut out the openings for plumbing and what not and silicone it in.

I reckon after all the effort you have put into building the tank you owe it to yourself to go with the background you were building. I think it would work heaps better.

Its a wonderful tank.

i have not given up on the diy background yet but it will be lots of work and i want to get the tank running

here is a pic of the tank with the background installed what do you think?

also a pic of my screen to protect the inhabitants of the tank an hopefully keep the duck weed in the tank
