well guys i have waited the required 4 hours for the silicon to dry on my background and i have filled the tank no signs of leaking yet so i added my de-chlorinator and my bacteria supplement now i will wait till tomorrow to throw about 20 minnows in to get the tank cycling and ready for my current fish. for those that have not been following the inhabitants will be: one 9" albino pleco, 3 gromies, 2 rainbow sharks, 1 bala shark, 2 small ghost cats, one angel, one clown loach, and down the road a bit one juvenile red eared slider. when the turtle gets to the tank the angel will most likely got to a new home.

Sounds and looks good. I would definatly rehome anything you have an attacment to when the turtle enters.

They will eat anything they can. My 8" RES eats most things right off. One time i had a CAE for about a year and i was happy cause he kept the brown algea down great, then one bam turbo decided it was dinner. If the fish is fast and has hidding spots it will survive longer but some day it will be dinner.

I think what gets most is they can't eat much since they are hunted constantly.

my drift wood should be here by Thursday so that will get installed. after it is in and at the bottom of the tank and the fish are accustom to it the turtle will be introduced. my hope is that the stump will become a sanctuary for the fish that the turtle cant get into and it should be heavy enough that the turtle cant move it

great background and duckweed sanctuary. most of your fish will probably survive except the minnows. Most of them are super stress at the fish store so they cant swim as fast n stuffs. I have 1 minnow who survived for 3 weeks and 1 convict in my 5.5 inch RES tank

well i guess i spoke too soon about no leaks. i was messing with my lights and found that i had a nail hole in the corner that was leaking about 5 drops a minuet. so i put a finishing nail covered in silicon into the hole and covered the entire area with silicone and some plastic and it appears that i stopped the leak for now, are there any ways to speed up the cure of silicone?

well i believe that i fixed my leak. i decided to add in my duck weed to see if my grate would work and it looks like it does the duck weed has spread around the tank and some has started collecting at the grate and has not gone past it except the real small pieces. so tomarrow the tank gets some fish to start the cycling.

well i it spent the night running and no leaks! i guess i fixed my leak i had last night. also i transferred two of my current inhabitants last night and they are alive and swimming today. one blue gromi and my bala shark

Wow, that's actually a really great background. Your water level comes to just above the rocks so it looks like a shoreline. How tall is your tank? Let's see some pics of those live beasties in your tank!
