  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^^ i like it, i think its a cool idea. obviously its a rediculous stock but you know what you're doing and they aren't staying in the 40 gal because as you said, what fish worth keeping can stay in a 40 for life? lol, looking forward to seeing more pics with the next additions and whens the Aba Aba coming home?

haha stocking was not a joke!!! all the fish will be small and only in there temporarily. and depending on how big the aba aba is when he comes in he probably will not be going in there right away if at all. then as long as the wana is big enough everyone should coexist for a few months :)

the filter will be a powerhead driven pvc pipe filter with the heater inside and then burried. cords will be ran along the edges and corners to conceal them as best i can.
I'd love to see the filter hook up
*Maybe a close up pic?

Just noticed the power strip on the floor....but I got an idea... what if you take a coffee table rug and cut out enough to slide the wires under it so they were concealed?Took or take the power strip and fasten it under the wood edge somehow so it's a little more concealed...hmmm... only problem is the humidity this close to the top of the tank...so you may have to enclose the power strip somehow...maybe a plastic box? I'm obviously kinda thinking out loud but would like some input or ideas. This build just gave me an idea also.I've been thinking about it for a long time but never actually did it.Now that I seen this set up it has sparked the idea once again.I think I just got the solution! If I, or you I guess...drilled a 1.5" hole in the bottom 2 X 4's and put the power strip under the actual tank-fed the wires through and then just run the cord out under the rug it would totally hide the power strip, the wires-everything! What do ya think? Sounds great to me anyway :ROFL:I think I may do this with a tank now.
The wife just gave me an idea...(go figure) instead of 2 x 4 frame on the bottom I could use 2 x 6 or even up to a 2 x 10 to make the coffee table higher and hide the power strip. Then I was thinking you could even hide the air pump also and run it via sponge filters. thanks for the inspiration.I'll post pics of mine soon.

I've decided to go a different direction with the filter. Since thw fish in there aren't so messy im running an undergravel filter with two 250 gallon per hour powerheads.

For the cords I thought about putting it underneath but we use the power strip constantly so that wasn't an option. Instead I am wiring all equipment onto one cord in conjunction with rocker switches hidden in the top. That way I will have only one wire leaving the tank :)

Nice! post some updates when time allows on the wiring.

that rtc is gonna outgrow that in about 2 months the rtc/tsn maybe even faster since its a hybrid. my rtc has grown an inch in 3 days. hes gonna get alot bigger than the rtc. but i wouldnt worry about one eating the other. is the pond its going in ur private pond or is it a neighborhood pond? also if its not heated its gonna die in the winter so whats the point of even getting it.

thanks for the input, but.
4 to 14" in two months? unlikely. an inch in 3 days? c'mon. and a rtc will outgrow the hybrid 8 times out of 10, and always outweigh him. and of course not a neighborhood pond. a heated, indoor pond at least 500 gallons.
sorry to rip on yah man.
