check out some of the similar sized builds and go with the simple yet very effective Box construction like this one , once you have the basic box built then start lookiing at the decorative aspects of making it look like Issacks tank ;)
I dont like his tank. Im going for a industrial look, not fancy keep up with the jones type. His tank is awesome no doubt, just not my style

so 3/4" ply screwed together, thats it?

Im Hella confused how my tank being 2" thick would not hold up

I wasnt doing anything out of the ordinary. You start with the frame. When you build a house you dont put up drywall then stick 2x4s behind it do ya? lol

I believe your best bet is to start over as BL has said and for the same reasons. using 2x4s are far stronger. I think you are safest to go that way and start off with the stong foundation before you go ahead and build the tank. GL and I'll be watching

As far as glass thickness goes when building a plywood tank as long as the glass is supported properly on all sides with proper bracing height is the only critical factor.

This is explained by hydrostatic pressure:

Ooh, you can copy and paste wiki, and you don't understand any of it.

Saying that pressure is destributed evenly amount edges doesn't imply that for every extention of length, there isn't more load being applied to the center.
