Thats like asking does anyone eat ur kids when they die?

I threaten to eat my tilapia every day. He is often referred to as an "over grown lump of sushi".

Haha omg, tilapia is the best fish ever, my favorite kind of fish sticks. Not too long ago a friend asked me if I could take his cichlid off his hands, I said sure I'll plop it in my monster tank and see how it goes, if not I'll bring it to a LFS. I got there and found out it was a tilapia, I lol'd so hard. I didn't know they were also pet fish. Hahaha

I put him in my aquarium and within like 3 minutes he had already beaten up a few fish, I sat there glaring at him saying, "If you don't stop being a douchebag I'm gonna eat you!"

I never did though. I brought him to the LFS.

I've heard gar and snakehead are good noms. If my gars ever die of something silly like forgetting to condition the water, I'm sure I'd try it. I mean I eat pike and walleye allll the time. Why waste the body when it can be eaten?

I wouldn't eat it, but I wouldn't have any problem chopping it up to feed to its tank mates.

lol no as much as you can say your fish are part of the family they're still your pets which places them along side bessie the cow that mr farmer keeps. what do you think happens to bessie's body when she dies? Unless you're a mermaid and give birth to both fish and humans...your comparison makes no sense.

if anything compare it to when your dog dies if you like, rare to see someone eat their dog. (although not unheard of in certain countries).

I suppose this will all depend on the kind of fish you keep, if you keep trout or bass, sure should be fine and taste ok, but most others are not so tasty and you'd be mutilating your pet to spit them out in disgust. not a pretty scenario. Although I guess it depends there are many fish kept in aquaria today that used to or still are food sources for their native lands.

no... Though my TSN is asking for it on a daily basis.

true story, when i was young, like 7 years old, had a 55g with three 10" tinfoil bards. one jumped out of the bucket upon moving the setup to our new house. next morning dug a grave for him in the backyard but couldn't find the dead fish anywhere. to my horror I seen my grandmother reach into the frig and pull out a cleaned/scaled tinfoil bard. I screamed as she slides it into a pan of sizzling oil. I laugh at the story now but I was traumatized then. haha, yes im filipino and grandma always thought we was raising the fish in the tank to eat haha. rest her soul
