Is that too much? :WHOA: didnt vacuum gravel.
Yea. Well I’d wait and recheck. Add bacteria ina bottle. Will put urself thru a mini cycle. Can do 50% water changes weekly with a dechlorinator.

Carbon won't change pH or harm my tannic/humid acid?
It’ll reduce the tannins but get the ammo block as it’ll absorb the ammonia which is the bigger prob.

Did another 33% water change. With more prime and fluval BB. Catfish and food seem happier. Will post water parameters soon again.
Was
0.50 ppm ammonium/ammonia
0 25 nitrates and a poop ton of nitrates!

I did a 33% change.
Should have been fine.
Probably got the louse from comet.
Any central/south American non cichlid would be preferable as food

Hard to tell in the pic of it’s a lice. Can just pull it off with hands or tweezers. Lots of lice would bother but not one. Try to get a better pic or atleast if u pull it off.

A week in is likely just still settling in. Probably still not eating. Would make sure ur water is clean and provide a little shade with floating plants. Likes soft acidic water.
Think I pulled it off!

Gross!

Anything I should pay attention for now? If he grows another louse, how do I treat the tank?

Post a pic. No need to treat. Just watch out for more.
