SPOTS FISHED-1

TIME FISHED-10 HRS

FISH LANDED-I-11/Dennis-3

The moon clock said that from 9:15-11:15 was the best time of day light hours to be fishing. I'll have to agree cause my first four fish were all decent, 2.8,3.2,2.12, and 3.7 :headbang2.

Before 12 came I landed nine amd Dennis got his first at 12:23. From there on the bite was slow for the rest of the day. My tenth fish came at 2:35 when a small Y-perch ran down on my crank bait. The crank bait also got me my last of the day about two hours later.

I tried to the spoon alittle but not for long periods of time. I wasnt feeling that confident in it so I would switch back to bass fishing. Dennis tied on the dancing eel I brought for him and he should of landed two CP's but both were able to get off. One of the CP's was 3lbs+. Dennis landed the last two fish of the day on the spinny, while we were headed back to the boat ramp.

No 5lb+, no Northern Pike and the bite basically shutting down at 12 and Ill still say it was a excellent day of fishing!!!!

FYI-The moon clock says 10am-12noon is the best time to be fishing in the day light hours.

What type of salmon are do you have atlantics or kings? If they come from the ocean there atlantics which is a lot different then kings. A crowd fishing for kings is way worse then a crowd fishing for atlantics.

That was about the dumbest thing I've read in awhile. Just an FYI all salmon originally come from ocean run fish. The kings or chinook are Pacific ocean fish.

A crowd of people fishing for anything can be a trying experiance.

On another note as someone who has spent seasons fishing large esxocids I can sincerely say that tying straight with any superline will cost you fish. We use heavy florocarbon and wire leaders for a reason.
For him if the come from the ocean there atlantics. If there coming from the great lakes they could be either. Its basic knowlege that all salmon come from the ocean. But if your fishing on the east side the U.S. and you catching salmon in a river that flows into the ocean they are atlantics. I mean come on you know this CF.

I my self have not caught very many large pike, but there is reasons for that. First I fish pike mainly in the summer which is a good time for lots of small pike. You know there are differences between fishing for pike vs. musky. I was giving advice to as to catch lots of fish maybe not the best big fish producer but still a very reliable system to catch alot of pike of fair size.

I got a chance to do some fishing today .

Lots of Miyans and few Oscars but have posted countless pics of those so wont post those but these two were different type fish.

One I think is called a gar the other a catfish. Caught on earthworms.

Nice catch. How do you fish areas like in pic 3 with all those "marsh plants" I stopped fishing areas like that because if fish heads into the weeds its a big pain.

I have caught them before on earthworms.
I was never targeting them was just reeling in the worm and as I reel it in they have hit it "chewed" on it and run with hook.

I wasn't sure if they were gar or pike till saw some pics on another post.

Glad you told me the catfish was a bullhead as didn't know what type it was as have only caught lots channel cats this was first bullhead.

I don't know natives that well only know non natives.

Thanks

I went fishing today at Canarsie Pier in Brooklyn. The current and wind were ripping (and freezing) and I skunked. I couldnt get a feel for my gear and didnt get a strike all day. The guy next to us managed to reel in a 6-8" Bluefish though

Hey, just so ya know, it's not good to hold fish you intend to release with a rag or towel or anything absorbant. It removes their slime coat and leaves them vulnerable to disease. Just FYI :)
