Just another update, after I sold the female my take dynamics took a swift change, the male and female I wanted to pair up seem to be doing so. The other two EBJDs have not been seen swimming up front or begging for food, they have been sneaking in and out of view to snatch a morsel of food.
Today I set up my spare 30g and removed the two EBJDs that we’re hiding. I used seasoned media from one of my filters from the 75g tank. The two are now fighting over who rules the 30g, so far the runt is still a lighter color and being chased by the larger male.
The runt may have a new home after the weekend, might have to install a tank divider until he leaves. So far no fins have been damaged. There are a few scratches/missing scales from snouts though (from all three battling for dominance in the 75g)
I went from having two running tanks to 4 running tanks in just under two weeks...the bf isn’t going to like this when he gets home. Pics to come
