Good to hear. I keep my lights pretty dim on my tanks as well. They seem to be more at ease with the dim light.

Finally got them to eat today, I’m thinking my lights on the fish tank might be too bright....I **** them off and fed them and they came right out to eat.

My old jd pair would stay in breeding colors all the time. Hardly ever saw them normal, so don’t get your hopes up just yet! But who knows maybe!

Day two of eating again! At least we are on a roll...a positive move in the right direction.

Now hopefully hey start looking good again, they are looking kind of sick this past week. (Just need to catch them pooping)

My female would change colors depending on how close the male was. When near dark like yours. When she can't see him go light mode.

Yea I would agree she does change darker to lighter with his interest, she doesn’t go as light as yours though

She is about 3in give or take in this pic.

Could be breeding colors. Could also be a sign of aggression or stress. Is there another female of similar size in the tank?

I’d hate to think it’s stress, she is the only female in the tank.

There’s no chasing or anything that I see when I watch the tank.
