Big pieces of Malaysian driftwood, if you get a big piece there are usually
plenty of hides and if not you can put the pvc under it to hide it. Some java fern and anubias attached to the wood will also provide additional cover and give the tank some cover.

Do you all have any good sources of Malaysian driftwood? I’d love to just fill the damn thing up with wood and be done with it. I love the driftwood look a lot more than pvc... I’ll post some pictures of some of the fish for y’all they’re older pics so they’re quite a bit bigger now. I’ll hopefully get some good pics when they warm up to the tank... I really don’t take enough pics lol

Some of those are about a year old! I’ll feed tonight and see if I can get some cool new pictures of him, and if y’all could let me know of a good online dealer or a local Florida dealer of some nice driftwood I’d owe ya

Why not use rocks and form caves with them? looks more natural and with many rocks you can easily make caves whatever size you want...

A lot of times rocks will leach out some minerals I’m on well water so it’s already very hard I don’t want to make it have any harder or add to the tds

I'm far from expert, but I think seiryu is one of the few rocks that will leach, but others might be ok - just do a research or others might point you to rocks which won't leach.

Also, as other sites say (never done that), you can use peat moss in your external filter to lower pH.
