In Balton's case, though, I think he's clearly a conscientious fishkeeper. I'm sure "we" can find this fish a nice home!![]()
Thanks chc. I WILL find him an equal or better home than he has with me.

I've had fish for years and years too. I kept my GT for over 8 years before he passed. Not saying I'm a better or as good a fishkeeper as you, but I do take my fish seriously. Why else would I be doing water changes every week, month after month, year after year without fail? Spending my time and money to care for them.
I imagine, I will have my dovi for years to come, barring any major catastrophe, oh well to each his own.Hurray for you.
That is one of the reason I think LI is a good fishkeeper, he keeps his fish to maturity, and enjoys them. The fun is not buying a big fish, it is raising him yourself. Don't compare me to Li. I'l be the first to admit I'm not in the same league as him. Not even on the same planet as far as fishkeeping. BUT, I've bred fish from eggs and raised them to maturity btw.
I have one question, what pet would you consider "in line" with a fish that you have kept for over a year, since my dog comparison was so over the top for you? I am curious to see what would be comparable for you. I'm not sure what I can compare a fish to. Not quite as substantial as a dog. But more so than a hamster or guinea pig.
