What browser are you using on the phone?

Also quite a bit of the new Droids dont have a slide out keyboard. The one that is the basis for this thread (droid prime) does not. My bionic doesn't. If you aren't a power user then stay behind the curve some and save money at the same time by getting a phone like the Droid X2 or other touch only phones.

google

yea i'm not a power user. pretty much just use the internet and i'd like a good camera phone. i'll look into the droid x2

thanks guys

so default browser. Go to the market and download Dolphin HD or one of the other browsers and see if you like your web experience better. I like dolphin myself but I know plenty who like the other options out there...

do you guys have any recommendations?

The latest and greatest phone that's out right now with Verizon is the Droid Bionic. It's a great phone and runs fast. My only complaint is the camera, as usual with Motorola. The Droid Charge (Samsung) had a much better camera. Also coming up are two great phones, the HTC Vigor, and the one that this thread is about.

I have a Droid 1 also and I have no issues on the browser, but my phone is rooted with a custom ROM, so I'm not even sure which browser I have installed. It is a stock browser though. I have never found a 3rd party browser I liked.

Another thing, do you have 4G in your area? Since I do in my area, 4G is pretty much a requirement. I can't get locked down on a contract with a 3G phone while 4G is in full effect. There's just a handful of 4G devices out right now on Verizon.

And if you want a good camera, stay away from anything made by Motorola. The best camera award goes to iPhone, and it always will.

I dont have many issues with the Bionic camera though honestly the type of pics I take with the phone dont need to be great. When I want quality I pull out a DSLR or such.

Though from what he said I woudlnt go Bionic for him. That is a lot of money to shell out to really only benefit from 4G and you are paying the price to be an early adopter. I woudl just go with an older model and live off that for the proposed usage.

I would agree with that for us which are power users. But for someone who is barely on the internet on the phone it doesnt make much sense to spend that much more money. Especially if wifi is readily available...

i may not get the bionic depending on the cost. but i'll look into any older droids after the droid 1.

downloading dolphin hd now

Yeah it's not a cheap phone at $299 with contract. I'm the same way with the cameras, but even for a quick snap, the Bionic was a huge disappointment. We were in Costco, and I was comparing the cameras of the Bionic and the Charge. My gf was standing at the counter, in a well-lit area. The Bionic's shutter was much slower compared to the Charge, and the color was awful. White balance is always off, and leaves skin tones looking a weird greenish color. I've noticed the same issue on my gf's Droid X. The Charge's camera was super fast, and the colors/white balance were spot on.

Sumo I'd also look at the Droid Charge. It was $300+, but Verizon just dropped the price today down to $199, so it's priced like all other phones.
