iPhone pffft! THIS is the phone to have!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea that's true i guess. on the verizon site it didn't say if it was getting in my are soon. they had markers on the map to show where it was having it soon but not in my area. so if you have a 4g phone, when you're not in a 4g area, it goes to 3g right?

Yup, just like you don't have 3G you'll switch over to 1x coverage. The best part is, they don't charge extra for 4G. Data plans are the same price. That's why I say it doesn't make sense to be stuck on a 2yr contract on a 3G phone. If you're in fairly big city, you should have 4G coverage soon. Verizon is claiming to have nationwide 4G by 2013.

yea i saw that about 2013 coverage. makes more sense for me to go with a Charge right now although by 2013 there will be way better phones i'd imagine at this rate. but no extra data charge is good.

that may have just made it easier for me to choose the Charge over the x2 or Incredible 2

Wow, I feel lucky to have 4G up in the Styx where I live - my internet went from slower-than-heck dial-up to lightning fast when we switched over to a wireless hotspot. The only problem is the 5GB monthly limit, I may have to spend the big bucks for unlimited service if we end up using the 5GB too quick...

I am not a fan of the Charge. Its battery issues are WELL known as it was almost just thrown together it seems. My Bionic lasts all day with pretty normal use though others have had issues with it as well. 4G is great but it is a battery hog. Thankfully you can turn off your 4G radio in settings when you are not in the area so the phone does not even try to conect thus saving juice on the phone. I would wait a month and see what specials VZW offers to get rid of their older 4G stock. I am sure the Bionic and others will be greatly discounted as the new phones start coming to the stage.

I have nothing to add to this except that this is my phone-

It makes phone calls. And it texts. I've had it for 4 or 5 years? Guess I just don't feel the draw. I just started back up at school a couple weeks ago and I've watched people literally walk into each other because they're glued to their phone. And I hate all the little kids playing on phones in restaurants etc.

I was the same way with smart phones, as I was a late adopter. I always said I didn't want one and didn't need one. Now, I've turned into one of those zombies. It really does change you, and there's been studies/articles/stories on this. Don't know what I'd do all day without a smart phone, sad to say!

the purple circle is where i live and work.... it says i should have roaming in most of the areas i work... right, i wish3g.JPG

Sumo check this out!!!!!!!!!! The Bionic is $0.01 on Amazon, for new customers only!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a stupid cheap deal. Anywhere else this will cost you $299 with a two year contract! You should open up a line in somebody else's name, then cancel yours. Save yourself hundreds.
