So ive just aquired a saratoga Leichardti Australian arowana. $160 cash. He is in my small dog tank at the moment. I need every bit of information ever known guys. If you feel like you have input please go right ahead.. aquired 3 hours ago ph is 7.3 - 7.4 dont know GH. Temperature is 25deg. Tank 250ltr. Then 330ltr then there is a 500 ltr for him. all tanks well established. Larger tanks are more acidic though so ill need input on what to decor those with instead of ph lowering driftwood. I need all knowledge ever known. I dont like my fish in just whatever i give them i mould the tanks around there needs. 20180328_145316.jpg 20180328_145542.jpg 20180328_175548.jpg 20180328_175429.jpg

Unfortunately not. With tanks limited to my bedroom I have no space :(

How acidic are the other tanks? If above 6.6 you should be good

Those Australian aros are the meanest sobs in the aro family and turn to killing machines around 8”s you will obviously need a much bigger tank for your aro as your gt or any other fish will not be able to hang with him as a adult.

At home
Watch your Nitrates. My S Aro got cloudy eye from the nitrates going up and I am still healing him. So I would defiantly watch for that. Also try feeding pellets.

Cool aro let him/her acclimate today, don't feed till night time. Keep lights off for a little bit let him get comfortable. It's still a juvenile so feeding 2 x daily is good, variety in diet is best, high carotenoid + mix feeder variety. Never starve your fish + use ketapang or melafix leaves to help with water conditions + turn up some tunes & enjoy.

Been keeping aro since 1996 & leichardti is one of my favorite. The red spots look super intense when they layer. I have 14" scleropages now & training him/her on variety of foods takes time. I mix veggie pellets for aro too & he loves it.

He eats anything which is really good. Had mine for only 24 hrs but he seems to have settled right in and it seems really chilled. im sure he will change once he hits puberty. Like my dovii and jags. Seems an aweome fish went and bought a massive mirror so he dont get drop eye... but i do have some questions.. PH.. some say acidic some say alkaline. They come from north queensland mostly which is alkaline mostly. I have mine in my alkaline tank but im already ready to put him in my six ft which is acidic. Pet shop said they are hardy but after selling my left leg to buy this bugger i dont wanna risk just yet.
