What temp is the tank at? Looks like they can handle up to 85, it probably is better to keep temps no higher then 80-82 long term I’d think.

The heat wave that has been hitting us has been raising the temps to 86f in the day and down to 78f at night. All three of my tanks are doing this. We get a two day break then back to 90s. Think I should freeze some water filled bottles and drop them in to help keep the temps lower?

If it were my tank I’d have a rotation of frozen water bottles ready to go. If you don’t want em floating in the tank add it a hob filter without the media. I’ve used those blue ice cooler packs on a couple occasions before I had central air in my house. Just slid em in the filter and switched it out every few hours. Worked pretty well until the house cooled down at night.

Sorry to hear you lost one of the little guys. Make sure to keep increased surface agitation if your tanks run hot to keep the oxygen levels up.

Sorry to hear about the acara, never a good day when a fish is lost. maybe lower the water in your tank so it disturbes more surface creating more oxygen.

So I was trying to do a whole colony deal with these Acaras. Then only having four to start with and now with two of them passing on I was thinking of adding some more fish. My thoughts are

2 Super red Severum
4 Geos Sveni
1 Uaru

Thoughts?
