Update:

If you don't follow my threads there has been some changes.

Toni is in a 6 foot 125 gallon tank now. The Roseline sharks had to be moved out, she ate one
I no longer have the JD's. The Electric Blue male was given to a fellow MFKer.

Here is a video of her current tank and friends.
Awesome Oscar .... stunned to see a beauty like it

hi :-)

beautiful oscar... wow... that red markings on white... I am envying you.
The Dempseys seem a little bit paler... the gravel might be too bright for them. With darker gravel you might get them becoming more dark like mine is (Profile pic), i use dark grey stones with natural river gravel... but it also depends on genetics. My female is very light tan when relaxed, but if breeding, she becomes almost black. The colour can vary a lot, changing within seconds from tan to black. When they get older, they can also become darker...
Also try out to use floating plants like frogbite and salvinia natans, works well with mine.

Well I caught a runaway heater this morning during the water change on the 55gal. Temps at 90deg F!!!

Acura's didn't make it.....Roseline sharks are going crazy. HRP are crazy mating dance all over the tank. Plecos seems ok.20180607_115012.jpg

Top Fin. It was the one that came with the glass 55 gal starter kit I got for Toni a year ago. Not bad for a cheap heater right.

Huh, I had a topfin that worked well for me for like 10-15 years before crapping out. Was the oldest piece of equipment I had. I guess they don't make em like they used to!

That was a lot longer than the filter that came with that starter set. It was a Top Fin 75. I never used it, I had an AC110. A few months later the filter quit on my son's mother's 33gal tank. I gave her the Top Fin 75, it lasted 3 months before it quit working.

Well I took the heater out and tossed it in garbage. When I changed the water I put slightly cooler water in like 88 maybe. And will let it just cool off itself the rest of the way. I will even leave the canopy off to get more air, cooling going on. Turned up the airpumps as well.

Jexnell Jexnell , sorry for the loss. Equipment malfunction like that is bad. TopFin used to actually have good warranty on their equipment. You could stop in with the heater to Petsmart and explain the malfunction and see if they would replace it under warranty. Worth a shot.

I mention this because I had bought a TopFin tank (120g) and had it for two years and the frame had cracked. It wasnt leaking or anything like that, but I figured the frame was meant to keep it all together... so I contacted them. They let me get a full refund on it because of the lifetime warranty on the tank! (They also let me return the stand too)
