Is this looking good for a first tropical tank?

Yeah, I had a planted six gallon a while back with a small school and Neocaridinia shrimp. The corys seem to school/shoal quite a bit.

If the lfs has pygmies ill get 4 or so. The betta is coming home today so here we go!
Also the tank has uber filtration (sponge, matrix and biowheel) so 5 fish will be safe

if not ask if they can order them for you, otherwise Pandas and Greens will suit just fine

Minimum group? Some say 3 some say 6

My betta has now been in the tank for 2 hours and seems to be doing fine.
it is a black bodied veilteil with his top fins blue and black and the bottom a more light brown.
he ate a small amount of flake and seems to be doing well ;)

lol you cruel "no" voters, tank is ideal for a first tropical; all comes down to the stock :D

I wouldn't do cories in with the betta, I'd opt for maybe some shrimp in there to eat scraps etc; even then he might decide to munch them, unless you get a moss clump to allow breeding of shrimplets
